ECHOES AND THREADS EXHIBITION 2024

ECHOES AND THREADS EXHIBITION 2024

A joint Exhibition by Helen Kirby and Tamsin Loveday

“Echoes and Threads” presents the work of two Fisherton Mill resident artists who share a fascination with ancient ritual landscapes in Wiltshire. Inspired by the energy and beauty of sacred sites such as Stonehenge and Avebury, Tamsin Loveday and Helen Kirby use unique approaches to textile-art, printmaking, and mixed media to explore connections between past and present, archaeology, spirituality, and contemporary culture.

For this exiting new exhibition “Echoes and Threads,” I have been drawing my inspiration from our prehistoric ancestors and their spiritual journeys of ceremony, ritual, and daily life. I will be creating a unique new series of Sound Paintings inspired by my recordings of acoustic instruments played within ancient monuments around Witshire and the surrounding landscape. Alongside my paintings I will be designing a small limited collection of tunics and waistcoats with hand weaving and painted motifs inspired by the Neolithic and Bronze Age settlers of Wiltshire.
